For those of you who are not from Utah, Pioneer Day is a state holiday that rivals the 4th of July as far as BBQs, parades, and fireworks. We particiapted in all the festivities (we were a little late for the parade, but we caught a good deal of the end:). It was fun and Manu was great, except in the car on the way to the fireworks when she screamed like someone was torturing her. But she likes being outside, so our day was generally great.

This float is actually the seagulls that came and saved the early pioneers from starvation by eating all the locusts that were destroying their crops. The seagulls look like bald eagles becasue they are actually wearing clothes...

Manu offcially got to face forward in her baby bjorn. she was happy to see all the sights, but sad that she couldn't reach the baby bjorn with her mouth anymore becasue she loves sucking on it.

This was our view of the fireworks from Ensign Peak park. My camera is not that good at night shots, but we could see the fireworks at Liberty Park, in Murray, in Draper, at the baseball stadium, and in West Valley city. It was really cool. We found out later that some of the fireworks from the Liberty Park show misfired and several people were hurt so they quit the show early. Scary, since we were thinking about going there instead!
